We have a soft spot for the wine Rendé Masdéu Trepat del Jordiet, for this varietal Spanish red wine that is one of the purest expressions of the Trepat grape available on the market.
To best convey the delicate character of DO Conca de Barberà's flagship red variety, the Rendé Masdéu winery used no wood whatsoever at any stage of the vinification process.
Sourced from certified organic vineyards around 50 years old grown in clay-limestone soils, the grapes were hand-harvested, fully destemmed and fermented in stainless steel tanks under controlled temperature.
After that, this red wine from Conca de Barberà was aged for 6 months in clay amphorae and concrete eggs.
Finally, the wine Rendé Masdéu Trepat del Jordiet 2021 was bottled and aged for a further months before hitting the market.
This varietal organic red wine is totally indigenous and nicely unpretentious. It also has moderate ABV (12%).
