The wine Rodrigo Méndez Cíes Tinto is a compelling Atlantic-style red by bodega Rodrigo Méndez, the personal project of the namesake Galician winemaker.
Made from three red varieties indigenous to Galicia - Caíño, Loureiro and Espadeiro - this blended Spanish red wine is sourced from 60 to 80 year old vines planted near the village of Meaño, in DO Rías Baixas.
After a manual harvest, this Crianza red wine was fermented in stainless steel tanks. Subsequently, the red wine Rodrigo Méndez Cíes Tinto 2021 was aged for 12 months in wooden vats and French oak barrels.
This red wine from Rías Baixas will definitely perform better if you aerate it before drinking.
