A classic Spanish white vermouth produced in the region of Tarragona, Vermut de Capçanes is made from a white wine base of White Grenache and Macabeo, macerated with a selection of botanicals and aromatic herbs.
Produced by Celler de Capçanes, the base white wine of this white vermouth was first added wine alcohol and sugar. After that, it was aged for 24 months minimum in French oak barrels using the solera system, that is, mixing old and new wines to obtain a more rounded product.
Dark-coloured, Vermut de Capçanes is aromatically complex, with remembrances of gentian, elderberry, juniper berries and sage. Smooth-bodied and gently sweet, it has a long finish with some bittersweet nuances.
