The magician from El Bierzo, winemaker Verónica Ortega, presents one of her most exquisite creations: the wine Verónica Ortega Tormenta.
This varietal Spanish white wine is sourced from a 0.8-hectare plot planted with an old, small-berry clone of Godello around 30 years ago, at 650 metres of altitude, near the village of San Juan de la Mata, in the northern part of the DO Bierzo. The altitude, the low yields and, most notably, the uncommon clay- limestone soils provide exceptional poise and impressive natural concentration.
This white wine from El Bierzo was spontaneously fermented in clay amphorae and French oak barrels. After that, the white wine Verónica Ortega Tormenta 2023 was aged for 15 months in the said containers.
This Crianza white wine was bottled in Novembre 2024.
