Details
The red wine Viña Salceda Cabezaparda is one of the latest creations of David González, the head winemaker of bodega Viña Salceda, who developed the Gama Parajes collection to craft terroir-focused wines from noteworthy areas of DOCa Rioja.
Made mainly from old vines Grenache sourced from, as stated on the label, several Paisajes del Alto Najerilla - meaning 'Landscapes of the Alto Najerilla’ – composed of iron-rich clay soils interspersed with limestone and silex, this Spanish red wine has a 5% of white varieties from the same vineyards.
The destemmed grapes were cold-macerated and fermented in stainless steel tanks. Then this red wine from La Rioja went into 225 French oak barrels, French oak vats (70%) and concrete eggs, where it was aged for 12 months.
The red wine Viña Salceda Cabezaparda 2023 was bottled in May 2025.
We suggest gently aerating this Crianza red wine before drinking.
