Caves Bertha

Mediterranean bubbles.
Founded in 1989, bodega Caves Bertha was first based in Sant Sadurní d’Anoia, the capital of the DO Cava. In 2014, the company build a new facility in Subirats, a village in Penedès situated between the Montserrat mountain range and the foothills of the Garraf Massif, in a privileged area where mountain and sea influences converge.
The estate vineyards of Caves Bertha winery are mostly planted with the traditional varieties from Penedés: Macabeo, Xarel·lo and Parellada. The local trilogy is complemented with Muscat, Grenache, Pinot Noir, Xarel·lo Vermell and Chardonnay.
The Cavas of bodega Caves Bertha are produced following the Champenoise or traditional method. The head oenologist is Mr Josep Torres, whose winemaking style combines a modern approach with a deep respect for the time-honoured Cava traditions. The winery's portfolio, whose yearly production is around 180,000 bottles, is mainly comprised of Reserva Cava and Gran Reserva Cava, aged for no less than 18 and 30 months, respectively. All the bottles have the disgorging date printed on the back label. The winery also produces a line of still wines.
Besides sparkling and still wine production, it is worth mentioning that bodega Caves Bertha offers wine tours, guided visits and Penedès' first Wine Bar.
