Product Description
Details

The prestigious sparkling wine Gramona III Lustros Gran Reserva Brut Nature is made from a blend of 70% Xarel·lo and 30% Macabeo.

Both varieties are sourced from the Font Jui estate, which comprises 4 hectares of Xarel·lo planted clayey in soils, and 1 hectare of Macabeo with sandy soils.

The estate is organically farmed, and the winery is increasingly applying biodynamic techniques to enhance the vitality of the grapevines.

Produced by Gramona, a founding member of the Corpinnat association of producers, this Spanish sparkling wine was traditionally vinified following the Champenoise method. First, the grapes were separately fermented in stainles steel tanks.

After that, the sparkling wine Gramona III Lustros Gran Reserva Brut Nature 2015 completed secondary fermentation in the bottle and was aged for a minimum of 84 months before hitting the market.

Finally, this Corpinnat organic sparkling wine was manually disgorged. No sugar was added to the wine after the process.

Appearance

The sparkling wine Gramona III Lustros Gran Reserva is medium straw with some golden tinges.

Nose

Supremely elegant, this blend of Xarel·lo and Macabeo smells of dry fruit and toast, with some delightful nuances of quince, lime and laurel, alongside some remembrances of Mediterranean underbrush and flowers over a mineral background.

Palate

Structured, wonderfully textured, with real complexity, this wine of the Gramona winery has some small, tingling bubbles and a first-class acidity. Suggestions of citrus, fennel, quince, cypress and bouquet garni. Long finish with some mineral remembrances.

Our personal opinion

Lush and graceful, the sparkling wine Gramona III Lustros Gran Reserva Brut Nature 2015 is absolutely first-class.

Definitely first class. Besides the suave texture, there is always a note of laurel and citrus that sets this sparkler apart.

I can even begin to say how much I like this Cava. You would have to spent two o three times more to find a Champagne not better, but simply as good as this. It has a character very much of its own. It is balsamic, gently mineral, super classy and wonderfully drinkable.
