Product Description

The Mistela Blanca produced by Celler el Masroig is a sweet fortified Spanish white wine made solely from old-vines White Grenache.

The overripe grapes were harvested in late October. Once in the cellar, they were destemmed, cold-macerated and pressed. The resulting wine must was fermented in stainless steel tanks and fermented for around a month. The fermentation process was stopped through the addition of wine alcohol, with a resulting final content of 15%. Finally this Mistela del Montsant Blanca was cold-stabilized and gently filtered.

The name Mistela, incidentally, is a Catalan word that means "fortified wine".

Additional Information
Additional Information

The sweet white wine Mistela del Montsant Blanca has a nice golden colour with some honey-coloured glints.

Clean, evocative aromas of quince preserve, bone fruit, figs and raisins, nuanced by some subtle spicy notes and dim remembrances of wet earth and garrigue.

Smooth and gently sweet, Mistela Blanca de Masroig has a stupendous freshness that enlivens the passage through the palate. Remembrances of white flowers, apricots, dry fruit and garrigue. Long finish.

Our personal opinion

Perfectly balanced, the sweet fortified wine Mistela del Montsant Blanca is quite a surprise. Serve it cool.

Unbeatable at this price. It has the exact amount of sugar to please me, while being refreshingly zesty and lemony.
