Details
The well-known Freixenet winery is the producer of this Spanish sparkling wine. The name Freixenet Cuvée DS is an hommage to Dolors Sala, one of the winery's founders.
Made from a blend of the traditional Cava varieties, namely Xarel·lo, Macabeo and Parellada, the grapes were first meticulously selected and then fermented in stainless steel tanks.
After that, Freixenet Cuvée D.S. Brut Gran Reserva 2017 was bottled and aged for 48 months.
Finally, this Cava from Penedès was disgorged and added a tiny amount of shipping liquor, which had been previously aged in chestnut barrels.
Belonging to the Cuvées de Prestige series, this Cava gran reserva is only produced in exceptional vintages.
