Manda Huevos Carramainas Blanco 2024
The wine Manda Huevos Carramainas Blanco is produced by Scottish Master of Wine Norrel Robertson, head of bodega El Escocés Volante, from a single parcel located near Calatayud. For bureaucratic reasons, though, the wine is marketed under the Vino de España label.
This Spanish white wine is solely sourced from the Carramainas vineyard, planted with 85-year-old Macabeo and White Grenache (5% of the blend) vines. Located at 850 metres of altitude, the south-parcel has soils of decompooriented sed red sand with gravel and pudding stones.
The hand-picked grapes were refrigerated and then full-cluster pressed adding no sulfites or enzymes. After that, this Crianza white wine was racked to used 500-litre French oak barrels, where this white wine from Aragón was left to ferment for about 2 weeks.
After that, the white wine Manda Huevos Carramainas Blanco 2024 was kept on its lees in the barrels for 15 months. It was bottled unfined and with no cold stabilization.
Production around 3,000 bottles.
