The Cava Gran Claustro Gran Reserva Brut Nature is made from a blend of the traditional Champagne grapes, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, sourced from certified organic vineyards.
The origin of this Spanish sparkling wine is quite interesting. When Dwight D. Eisenhower, the 34th President of the United States, visited Spain in 1959, the Castillo de Perelada winery was asked to produce a special wine to commemorate the visit.
The winery then made the first Gran Claustro from a private selection of wines, and the success encouraged Castillo Perelada to launch the new Cava as a commercial product.
After fermenting in stainless steel tanks, the Cava Gran Claustro Gran Reserva Brut Nature 2021 was aged for no less of 30 months in the bottle.
This vegan brut nature Cava is a great match for a multi-course dinner.

| Nose | The trademark elegance of the Pinot Noir & Chardonnay varieties results in a nice aromatic complexity, with notes of white flowers, a layer white fruit and dry fruit underlined by some mineral notes, some creamy hints, and a fleck of pastry and citrus. |
| Palate | Nicely balanced, this Cava of bodega Castillo de Perelada enters gently on the palate, showing a richly textured, smooth body with little, well-integrated bubbles. The presence of Chardonnay brings flavours of white fruit and tropical fruit, while Pinot supplies wild berries and a delicate, floral touch, with hints of jasmine and rose petals. Long finish with some refreshing, slightly bitter remembrances. |
