Gramona Vi de Glass Riesling 2022
Conceived along the lines of the famed German and Canadian icewines, the wine Gramona Vi de Glass Rieling is nonetheless crafted following a different technique.
Since in the Mediterranean area it is very difficult for the grapes to freeze naturally, some years ago the Gramona winery devised its own technique to produce this type of wine.
After a late harvest, the Riesling grapes, coming from organically and biodynamically farmed vines, were partially freezed and subsequently pressed in order to obtain a high-concentrated wine must.
Then, the must was fermented in stainless steel tanks for 8-9 weeks, until it reached an appropiate degree of sugar and alcohol. Then the wine, also known as Gramona Vi de Gel, was bottled.
A little-known sweet white wine from Penedès, the wine Gramona Vi de Glass Riesling 2022 will nicely evolve in the bottle for many years.
A masterly crafted product, this Mediterranean Eiswein will pair excellently with sweet desserts, foie and soft chesses.
